ALCON: Thoughts about plugged tires and or patches???

Being the commuter that I am and riding daily on my CBR or designated commuter bike through the years, I have had 5 flats due to nails and/or screws. I usually replace the tire immediately for safety reasons and once used a plug for about 300 miles until money allowed for me to get a new tire BUT WTF? I just put new tires on my CBR about 2 months ago and lo & behold, I got a damn finishing type nail in my rear tire. Arghh, I don't want to buy a new one again but looks like I will have too as no shop (of the 3 that I called) will patch the tire.

I may just do it on my own like I have on my dirt bikes and enduros in the past.

Anyone know a shop that will patch a tire?

Where to begin with all of this...

I guess lately there has been a fair amount of activity on OSB. Much of it I haven't been unaware of, but to all of those involved I may not completely understand the details of the situation but I personally apologize to everyone for any distress.

It's no secret OSB has not been doing well. Active users are dropping like flies and post counts have dwindled to nearly nothing for weeks on end. OSB has absolutely nothing to offer not just any new blood coming into the group but for anyone. And that is really disheartening to me.

OSB used to be thriving. We used to have BBQ's with friends. Friday night gatherings with friends. Go on rides with friends. Do everything we could to be there and help friends. We used to be surrounded by friends on OSB! Friends come and go and that's expected and accepted, I don't expect OSB to be your life. But some times friends go then come back, that’s great and how it should be; free to come and go without crucifixion.

The few of you that are still here and that know me know that I'm about as anti-confrontational as it gets. It really takes a lot to piss me off and get me going. So that being said I apologize to the community again for not stepping out of the shadows sooner, I should have. I cannot stress enough that I'm not angry or upset at anyone. And I mean that. I'm just really disheartened with what OSB has become and with the recent events, where it's going.

The special announcement I made some time ago to see what the active community thought about a fresh look on OSB must have sparked something. And lately there have been a lot of hostile feelings and threats personal and forum related being shot back and forth between admins. Some legitimate, some not. The details of that situation will not be disclosed but I assure you all that I am not involved and that I will not be involved.

I've been talking things over with the owner, Ms. Honda. And with her permission I'll be stepping out of the shadows and we'll be transferring the responsibility for managing Oregon Sportbike, Eugene Sportbike and hosting services over to me. During that time the old OSB will be laid to rest and a new OSB with new administration, forums and agenda will be put in its place. There is even talk of a possible merging of ESB and OSB. After all it is OREGON Sportbike right? Why isolate Eugene? They're friends too right?

To those of you that are still here and have remained loyal to OSB, I'll be sending you all thoughts of a shiny gold star and a thanks. I cannot thank you enough for sticking it out through thick and thin.
