Bike: Triumph Daytona 675
Destination - larch Mountain

Today, the weather turned out nice so I decided to go for a short scoot to Larch mountain (alone  ) here's what I think about the bike:
I couldn't get over how easy the bike handles into a corner. She's incredibly narrow in the mid-section, and there's no weight. My first impression on the seating position was that it was the design of a yoga expert with a sense of humour:thinking: .So I'd better get used to having my knees nearer my hands than felt altogether safe. I would also have to get used to my Ass being higher relative to my hands than felt altogether safe. I never experience any hand/wrist ache during my ride even though my weight was more in front:crash: . I was surprised that when I bounced on the suspension, it had quite a lot more travel in it both front and rear than I expected:idunno: . I'm thinking of going to GP Suspension to have it adjusted right for me (Roger's suggestion). The brakes are awesome and I think it's better than my old zx7r brakes.
Once on the open road over 60 m.p.h. however, everything came together and I could concentrate on the engine response it took some time to appreciate how the 675 was quite happy to potter along in a high gear at 4,000 to 5,000 revs and then pull away without fuss.I didn't pushed the engine too much :sing: ( well maybe a little) , but I blipped it a few times and really enjoyed the exhaust sound --brrrrup!:moped: How the bike performs on a track is still a mystery to me( since I've never been on a track:help2: ) but I was more than impressed with how it goes on the road. So far in my opinion, I think this is probably the best street bike I've ever ridden:thumbup: . Manageable power, great chassis and brakes, aggressive looks, and just a blast to ride.
Hope the post wasn't too long :blah-blah:

Thanks for the post.

Nice writeup! I really think the 675 is a sweet bike... nice to hear you think so too!

How do you like the wind protection? Is it adequate at speed?

So far it's doing it's job but I think it's better if I change it to a larger one.

Also, I am not familiar with the tires- Pirelli dragon supercorsa pro. I would like to hear feedbacks from people who actually have use them. Bad or good. Thanks.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your ride . You will love the Pirelli's great wear rate and very supple on rough roads , did you adjust the air pressure yet ? 31PSI FR / 30 PSI RR for this cool weather bump it up a pound or two as the temps raise .

I'm not in a position to offer first hand information, but according to a knowledgeable source, modern tires/compounds do NOT require reduced pressure to properly warm up or provide adequate grip. This is why OEM operating pressures have steadily risen in the last 10 years (I can attest to this - the recommended pressures on my 2004 are indeed higher at 36 front/ 41 rear than on my previous bike, a 2001 at 34 front, 38 rear).

I can also say that I have typically run higher pressures (34 front, 38 rear) than others I ride with and have had no less grip and gotten many more miles out of my tires (around 4000 rear, and 6000-8000 front on Diablos). In fact, I'm usually faster through the corners on a 180/55 with higher pressure than others with 190/50 or 190/55 with lower pressure.

This is hardly hard evidence, but to me what he said makes sense. I just got a new Diablo on the rear and am going to run it at higher pressures to see for myself what I think.
