This is a fun event for whoever is interested. Riders leave Beaverton Honda between 5:30 and 8:30 for a local 250 mile loop. You can pre-enter or pay when you get there, it's about $15. The money goes toward the Kidney Association of Oregon, and you can bring canned food for the Vernonia Food Bank.
I already know the route this year and it should be a great ride. http://www.sportbikes.ws/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif If it's sunny out you'll see well over 500 bikes, if not around 250 bikes. Hope to see some of ya'll there!!

I designed the route, that's how I know it's good! :shhh: I'm responsible for the 250 route last year too. It was kinda wet though! I can't tell you where it's going though.. Sorry!

2007 ROSE CITY OREGON 250
Sunday, April 1, 2007
The Rose City Oregon "250" is a poker run for road riders. In the past 15 years this event has generated over $44,000 for the Kidney Association of Oregon and 10 tons of food for the Vernonia Food Bank. Approximately 250 miles in length, it serves as an excellent opportunity to tune-up for the Rose City Oregon 500 in May.
Here is an ENTRY FORM that you can print.
Just fill out the form and include a check that covers $13.00 for each person pre-entry, and mail it to:

The best roads are in the middle of the ride. I'd say 150 out of 250 are twisty. 50 getting there and 50 getting back. I hear you on the OMRRA weekend. I'll be up there on Saturday.

Howdy Arin, If you volunteer, it's free!..plus you get a free burger and a beer!
I imagine you can work pre-grid & start/finish with me if you want.
We all meet at the base of the inside tower before 8:00am. You pay the admission to enter
(I think it's $10.00), then Janice Logan of OMRRA will reimburse you via cash.
If you just want to come out, here's a link for a $2.00 coupon

Did it come down Highway 30 east bound towards Portland? If so, I waved at a lot of bikes today and even hand signalled a group of sport bikes to slow down as opposed to the "other option".
I swear I saw Sabrina's CBR in one of those groups...

If I were to sum it up with one word only... the ride was.... COLD.
There were 350 riders. Most of them were cruisers and Wings, but everyone was friendly. Spy and I just missed some of the sportbikes in the morning. We left about an hour behind them and didn't catch up until almost to County Line Park.
It went out 26 to 47 through Vernonia, then Mist (it wasn't so much "mist" as it was slush and snow coming down.) First stop at the Elk Viewpoint on 202. Then on to Astoria to the Column. Crossed into Washington to take Hwy 4 to the next stop at County Line Park. Through Longview, over to Rainier and on to Scappoose for the next check point. Finally back to BHY.
202 was pretty rough... even compared to what I recall from last fall. Between rough wet roads, and being cold and tense from shivering, the conditions didn't allow for any hooliganizing, that's for sure!
We hit some pretty good rain after we left Astoria that lasted about 45 minutes. By the time that cleared up, the best roads were behind us.
I'm looking forward to the 500!

Yeah, i agree... that cold just completely tensed ya up. I couldnt open her up, dip her sideways or anything! Maybe it woulda been better if this was later in the riding season... oh well!
