So here I am coming home from the GF's house and decide to hit McKenzie View for a short burst of twisties on Sunday. I hit it as I go underneath the bridge and start doing my 75+ MPH corners..... Anyway I get through about 3 and notice a black Dodge charger with a chromie grill following me but purposely not getting too close. I slow it down to about 65 to 70 and use no brakes. I slip up to an old ford pickup truck and pass him..... The black charger is still there... He passed it too immediately, but still not trying to catch me...... I slow it down to 50 then I and speed it up. He stays the same distance.
I continue still not hitting the brakes through the corners. I sit up on the straights to at least give him the impression that I see him, but he doesnt get any closer..... I pass one more on the last long straight before the cow field and a right onto Old McKenzie highway. He is still there.....
I ride into town and take a right. This time its a foot down and look left before I turn on a red light manuver. He follows. Now I am getting pissed. First he ruined a blast ride for me and still continues to "stalk" me. I finally do a rolling pull over and let him go by. Tinted windows.... Really tinted windows. I pull out right behind him and just shake my head. Dont know if he saw that part because I turned left and he went straight after that, but I finally caught the impression that it was a OSP undercover.
Ya'll see a new black charger with a chromie bling bling grill, bling bling wheels and really tinted windows then you are being followed by a cop. Everybody I talked to sees this car on I-5 between Creswell and Coburg. He was probably under the bridge watching something off the highway when I blew by him.
Just a heads up. Be safe!

doubt it is OSP unless it was a drug confiscation- then it would only be undercover use, not traffic.
Coberg, however, would use/do anything to issue citations, legal or not.

Coburg, Oregon Speed Trap Returns
The city of Coburg, Oregon, population 969, will take in $630,000 in speeding ticket revenue.
http://www.thenewspaper.com/rlc/pix/coburg.jpgDespite efforts by the Oregon legislature to shut down speed trap operations, the city of Coburg is on track to collect 37 percent of its annual revenue from speeding tickets this year. In 2003, state legislators adopted the "Coburg law," a measure aimed at protecting motorists who pass near the tiny city of 969 residents along the Interstate 5 freeway.
The law, which took effect January 2004, prevented a city from retaining fines issued on property -- such as the freeway -- beyond its city limits. As a result, Coburg's budget plunged $600,000 into the red.
The city responded by annexing a portion of Interstate 5, its main source of revenue, allowing the city to keep ticket profits once again. The maneuver has brought ticket revenue back to a level of $53,000 a month, and Coburg expects to take in even more when statewide traffic fine increases take effect in January.

Hmmm... I know quite a few agencies who use undercover cars for Traffic. Portland has 3 that I know of, Washington county has 1 that I know of, and Hillsboro has 2 that I know of... all low profile (smooth tops or even "other models") cars that are set up for traffic enforcement. It wouldn't surprise me if OSP had a Charger that was stealthy... WSP has several that are set up that way.

That black charger is only used for traffic. The only way you know its a cop by the chrome grill up front. If you look carefuly you can see the lights in the grill and in the windshield by the rear view mirror. The only way I know this cause they had it displayed at gateway mall inside for the police day thing. I talked to the officer about it and he said its used for speeders, bikes, and ricers. I looked inside the car and it crazy!!! the windows are sooo dark, I told him I will have to ride slower when I see this. He just laughed at me. Like I said the only way to know its a cop car is that front grill with a bunch of little holes in it.

Like they could get enough HP & suspension upgrades into that car to actually catch a bike (should the rider foolishly decide to run). This car is all about intimidation, pure and simple.

those little japanese cars that try to race me 15 times a day are more of a bother for cops than bikes.

Funny. They NEVER try to race me. I had a guy in an old truck rev his engine at a stop light once. I thought it was funny, so I revved back. I'm not sure which was more funny, the fact that he was serious and thought he had a chance, or the fact that even after being caught by surprise and taking off slow, I still beat him easily to the next light!

That is the one. The grill was bling but with a bunch of holes, and the windows were so dark I couldnt even tell you if it was a man or woman driving...... and it rolled right past me not 5 feet away when I pulled over and let him by.
You are now the 3rd person that described the car exactly.
....oh....and its got a regular Oregon tree plate.

theres also a whit chevy Malibu thats just plain stock with oregon plates.... I saw him pull over some one. Thats the one I would have a problem looking out for. It just blends in traffic...... Watch out for that.
They should get a police lambo like they have in England. I would just speed so I could get pulled over and look at it :)

What Im thinking is this charger is probably camera loaded, since its new and all it has to do is follow reading speed limit and time. Even if I would have been a slickster and tried to show him who's faster, they would have showed up on my doorstep with the proof on film.....

Good one more car I now know about. OSP also uses maroon taurus's and another car I can't think of on I5. I do.. but I also try and do it in short burts. After all doing a buck 30 means I've covered a mile in less than 2 minutes. ha ha. Enough fun to last me a bit... :) No need making my good luck fairy, or whatever it is looking over me, keel over from a heart attack with all the work they may have to put in as OT one of these days.ha ha

Urm... if you're goin' a buck thirty, I'd hope you were covering a mile in less than 2 minues.
Now, if you were goin' 30... then I could see it takin' you 2 minutes to cover a mile.
Ok... I'll stop bein' a smartass and I'll shut the f&*k up now.
