i'm a HUGE fan of the new cbr, but i vote for the daytona, because i know how much karen adores her. seems everyone who buys one loves it... i say be unique, go with a bike that not everyone has...
but i'm still torn, because i realllyyyy love that new 600rr

I think it depends on how you like to ride and what feels "good" to you. I LOVE my 675, but I LOVE to corner more than anything else, and the 675 handles like a trials bike... super nimble. Not everyone would love how skinny it feels between your legs and how tall it is though. The R6 is a beautiful bike, but I read over and over again how the new one really seems more suited for the track than the street, probably a great bike if you love to go really fast on the straights. I hear they have improved the CBR's performance and weight this year, and you certainly can't go wrong with Honda's reliability. All three are beautiful bikes... hard to go wrong with any of them...

PS...Cycle Parts in Eugene has a brand spanking new BLACK 675 in stock... it's so damn nice in black that I nearly had to trade mine in on it...despite the $$$ I have 'invested' in aftermarket goodies.

All are good bikes - not a bad choice among them. Which would be better for you depends heavily on your personal preferences. I personally believe the 675 is probably the best all around street bike of the bunch, because the other 2 are more track focused with more aggressive steering geometry (may be a bit "twitchy" for those with less experience, skill, or lacking perfect riding technique) and being designed for maximum HP higher in the rev band (mid-range HP is generally more preferrable for the street).

What about the all new kawa
I sat on a new kawa 636. It's kinda uncomfortable for me. Nice bike though.
If you will never race, the 675 is getting rave reviews from all who own one.
If you think there may come a time that you may want to take it to the track, get the addiction and race, the 07 ZX6RR (600 not 636) is getting the best reviews in stock trim and you can't race the 675 in 600 but you can race the 600 in all the classes.
Any of those including the GSXR and the ZX will make a fine motorcycle, you just have to decide what your goal is and find the one that fits it best. For an $8-9k investment, you should take the time to read everything, don't rush it.

its a reall close call between the Kawi ZX-6RR and the 675... The 675 felt extremely narrow. the Kawi felt just right for me though...

i feel ya i've been looking for another also
i voted for the 675 i went and looked at all the new ones last weekend and the feel of the 675 was the best for me
cuz i aint have much fun riding the R1 on the street so it's off to the track with her too and like someone said the new 600's are twitchy for the sreet thats why i tracked my R6 in the first place and karens right that black 675 is dead sexy:rad:

in lieu of the cb750, i was looking at that triumph on line, very nice looking and great reviews. my next bike will be a triumph, i was looking at them recently but the hayabusa was a dream for me for so long and when the time came to where i could get it, i did

im about 6'3 and weigh about 230 so it felt good getting on it, however the throttle is nasty, you have to handle it lightly or it rips you bad.
I sat on a new kawa 636. It's kinda uncomfortable for me. Nice bike though.
the new kawi is the 600rr they stopped making the 636 in 06

03-09-2007, 10:41 AM
maybe it was an 06 new 636. they arent 07 but sure seem to cost a hell of a lot less than getting the newest thing outthere that is very soon to be yesterdays news. alsoi got the hayabusa limited edition, the dealer had no idea what made it limited. all i can think of is thecolor and no graphcs other than the hayabusa characterand a gsx1300r decal couldnt find anything online or any place so im thinking maybe its the color? can anyone offer any idea on how to find out
Spy007
03-09-2007, 10:54 AM
I know for the 06 is the color scheme and it has a special badge on the tree clamp that says "limited".
Speedgeek is 6'2" and about 215.... handles the bike good. We just put on some raising links last weekend which helped the handling immensely. Also new tires with a taller center apex help (he got pilot powers). Other than that he has added a full akro race pipe, pcIII, speedohealer, chain conversion (dont remember how many teeth he changed out) and we just got his new rearsets in the mail today to install tomorrow. His bike is REAL nice!

gonna probably be a bit before i start customizing, im poor, but all in time, ill definitely raise bars first, i drove it from bend to clackamas rather than truck it and the neck and wrists were alittle tired after a cpl of hours
Spy007
03-09-2007, 11:11 AM
Really? Maybe its just your riding position needs to be changed. Really shouldnt be putting that much weight on your wrists. He rides from lake o to redmond quite a bit. Now that we raised the rear a bit its more pushing him forward, but never bothered him before.
Oh, forgot he also got some SS brake lines and good pads. Also did the airbox mod and some velocity stacks and custom tuned.
Next on the list is the front suspension (stock isnt too good) and some carbon fiber!

Howdy Ben. I vote for all!
I'd recommend the ST1300! That way we can go do some good road trips.
I'm hearing great reviews on them. Quite a few police bike fleets are also transitioning over
to the ST1300's also. Every rider I've met that has one speaks real highly of them.

Nice congrats on the new ride ! Since I already own an '06 R6 I'd look into a Triumph 675 as a second ride . I rode a 675 last year it's softly sprung from the factory so my first mod would be to see the crew at GP Suspension for a little "tune up" .

Yep. I can't wait. I could have gotten the red one but I think the black one is better. They have one black on the floor but has some scratches. Mine should arrive anytime this week ( I hope).
