What is the best way to take stickers off of a bike? I was thinking of using my girlfriends hair dryer and some "goo gone" along with a plastic scraper. Does that work? Are there better ways? :help2:

I took all of mine off with a hair dryer and then the remaining glue with "goof off" then applied another coat of wax. I assumed the goof off would remove the wax... came off real easy

Clothes steamer and a small plastic blade works the best:thumbup:

Watch out with "goof off" not only can it take wax off it will remove your paint. (at least it did on my car)

I would do as you suggested minus the scraper. That is how I did mine with no problems at all.

heat it up and carefully peel it off. rub your finger over the left-over glue and it should ball up and you can pic it up. You can also buy some mild reducer that will take off the glue and wont hurt the paint.

Careful with goof off or the like. They can eat pastic.

honestly this is my choice..

Hair dryer...and fingernail. ANY other type of scraper, even plastic can damage paint. just take time. then use a good light 'cutting' wax and a final glaze wax when done..bling bling..

Yes..you pretty much have the idea down.

But you did ask for the best way...
Have someone that has done it before, do it for you.
Just get them a beer while they work on your bike :p

Haha...I like the "letting someone else do it for a beer" idea.

Thanks all for the suggestions, sounds like I'll leave the scraper in the tool box and use some elbow grease and my fingernail. I appreciate all the advice!

I just heated mine up with the hair dryer then peeled. Instead of scraping and scratching at my paint, I just set a corner of the sticker (sticky side down) over the left behind glue and removed it rapidly in a repetitive motion until everything was gone. No muss no fuss no glue no scratches.
