Just found this site . Very cool !!!
Not new to Oregon or bikes , just computers!
I got my first bike at 4yrs old and to my Mothers amazement I'm still alive and riding 32 yrs later . I live in Lakeview down by the California/Nevada line .
Yesss , way the heck out in the middle of nowhere ! But just think of all the endless paved wide open roads with nothing more than a cow or car every 50 miles or so . Kinda like the Autobahn of Oregon :naughty: . I just got my wife hooked on bikes last summer so now she wont shut up about riding . :blah-blah:
I know I should count my blessings to have such a good woman , but now she likes to spend more time with her leathers than she does me .
Anyway I hope there are other female riders out there who she can hang out with . She likes speed but not my kind of speed and I have to slap my throttle hand every few minutes to slow down . I'm real big into mid 80's bikes . You know my teen years and all .
Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself . Thanks for your time !
Johnny

Hurray for the 80's bikes! I too had a V45 Sabre ('85). The last bike I sold was a '82 Kaw Spectre 1100. Had that thing for 17 years!!

Maybe you all need to encourage us Valley folk to come out your way for a few days?

Post often and beware of the whores! :rad: :haha:

Hey FJMAM , we realy should get a run going in this area . Every summer the Harleys go thru town by the hundreds on the way to Reno or Winnamucca for the rallies down there . Every once in a while a group of sportbikes will ride by , but everybody misses the good roads . We have some of the most beautiful FREE campgrounds in the country ! I will try to post some pic's of them . Later . Johnny
P.S. Long live the 80's road rockets :rad:

Hey Tyler , nah that was taken at the campground at Dog Lake .
Yah a run to Reno would be sweet but we just bought a '68 500XL convertible so if I go to Hot August Nights it's got to be on four wheels . Now the Air Races would be another story !
I get up to Bend evry so often so I will PM you before next trip and we can meet up . Johnny

Air Races...............Now you do have me panting and    .

Not a thing in the world can compare to the sound of P-51 Mustangs......Nothing!! Sorry guys, I love the bikes and big v-8's on 4 wheels but, if you've never heard the roar of the great WWII war bird you've not heard POWER!

Man, brings chills and tears all at the same time!!

Hell yes, Air Races.............September, right??

Yep , the races are in September . I hope to get to them this year . Were only 3hrs drive from where they hold them . A nice short drive for us . Short being the key word ! I still have nerve damage in my shoulders from the two trips up and down the Alaska HWY on sportbikes . On those trips I would have traded my Katana and my right arm for a Goldwing !:goldwing:

Sorry to hear about the physical wreckage. The memories must be tremendous from the trip though.......

What do you do about lodging for the races? I know things sell out way,way in advance!
