$242 for crossing the median!

Well I did it, no contest there, but $242??!! Holy sh!zter. I promise I'm never coming south of the Columbia except to go to work and PIR. That's it. I can take the punishement when I do the crime, so don't flame on me about that, I just really think that is waaaayyyy overboard on punishment not fitting the crime.

I got that much when I crossed the SOLID WHITE LINE in my car!! Comeing on the freeway off of river road and there was an accident so every one was crossing the white line so I did also to get into traffic and I got pulled over for doing it! So How come he didnt give me another ticket for pulling over on the white line???:idunno: I know how you feal!

I heard they were running a local sting a few days ago parking on the side of the freeway with the lights on and pulling over those who didn't get over or slow way down, handing out the same $242 thank you letters. That would piss me off like no other if I got busted in one of those.

i think it would be pretty easy to fight that one. What if you are caught in traffic and are unable to move over in time? "Doing so could have caused another accident so I moved as far away in my lane as possible"

The main point is to make an effort to slow down and change lanes if possible. If can't change lanes then travel as far away from officers car as possible to give us a safe working area.

so then if you could reasonably prove in court that you made such attempt, you could fight off the ticket right?
