I ride an 08 R1, I did have an FZ1 but State Farm decided it was cheaper to total than repair.

It's amazing how fast bodywork can total a bike. Of course not much bodywork on an FZ1 so my guess would be a scuff tot he frame, that's an instant total.

Welcome to the site.

Hey dude! Those R1's are squirrely wheely machines! I rode my brother Dean's once before I bought my first bike, my namesake.

The frame wasn't scratched at all, just alot of other damage. The shop gave me a $6200 estimate to repair.

This was the last time I rode it, just before the helicopter showed up to haul me away. My wife didn't mind that they cut off my leathers, she called it my "Michael Jackson" suit. Really sucked having to go bike shopping again... Ok not really.

I'm glad you set the record straight, 'cause it looksy likey dey thawed Michael from the cryogenics lab long enough to get a boo-boo. Glad you are okay and have fun shopping for a replacement bike and leathers. :)

Looks like you had about he same fun a few of us here have had as well. Had I put my bike in the shop it would have been about $4k to fix, insurance would have totaled it and the repair bill for me was billed at over $150k. Insurance paid for me and I put the bike back together for about $1k.

The estimate I've got back on mine is almost 6k. I know the insurance is going to total it.

I'm tellin ya, supermoto. $60 in plastics and it's a new bike. I've crashed mine 11 times now and you can't tell except for the scuffs on the handguards.

I'm going to make out well on the deal (got a pic of the bike in "let's see everyones bike" as it sits now).

I know, I know :offtopic::threadjack
