Howdy from Scottsdale, AZ!
It rained here today....

Well, I went for my DOT CDL medical exam this morning and was told that I've lost 1/2 of the hearing capabilities in both of my ears. :eek2:

It seems the 20 years of roadracing seasons and riding with exhaust systems has caught up with me.

Take care and protect your ears so you don't lose your hearing like I have! :(

Or just music that's -louder- than the exhaust pipes, right? :shifty:

Ear buds or ear plugs are the only way to go. With all the technology we have today I'm surprised that helmets don't completely eliminate road noise.

If I remember right, traveling at highway speeds with a full face helmet you're exposed to an average 103 decibels of just road noise. And it was ridiculous how much more it was without a full face helmet...

Edit:
The United States Department of Labor says you shouldn't be exposed to 95db for more than 4 hours at a time.

All day ride + a 3/4 face helment = you is guna be deef

Skipbo, sorry to hear about the hearing loss. I have some hearing loss via a "blast" a few years ago. Long story. But hey, they make some great hearing aids now unlike the old days.
