That's actually been a law in Oregon for quite some time, never heard of anyone exactly getting a ticket for it though :crazy:.

Yes, it's been illegal to expectorate upon a public sidewalk for a long time.

It doesn't specify streets, though.

The judge said that she had never seen a citation for this, but that in fact it was in the ORS.

I said that I didn't disagree, but that the citation was errantly issued because I expectorated from the sidewalk upon the street, not upon the sidewalk itself. I then showed her a phone pic of the loogey in question in the street gutter.

Dismissed.
