Blackberry to an iPhone (Make that an EVO!)

So I've been using the BB Curve for the last two years... The BB is neat but I think I'm going to pick up an 18GB 3Gs iPhone after work today or tomorrow. I said I would never go to the iPhone but there is nothing out there that compares the to functionality the iPhone offers. 90% of the time when I'm using my phone its to look at google maps, surf the web or listen to the soothing sound of Flytes voice. As far as maps and the web goes the iPhone does very well and the BB not so much...

Has anyone here had any major problems with the iPhone???

Some people here at work said they have had to exchange it out for a new one due to the software going buggy or the battery not charging. Other than that they love them...

Thoughts?

I predict you'll grow to loathe the virtual keyboard when coming from the BB, and you'll also enjoy the ghey-ass website that it will send you to when someone sends you a pic message (iPhone can't send or receive them - email only)

Once again, Apple made *almost* the perfect device and then had to go and cripple it.

The 3Gs is way way cool. It has some super sweet copy and paste functionality and it's FAST! I like it lots so far :rad: the keyboard is sweet and email is fan-fuckin-tastic!

Yeah its cool, but the lack of MMS is a draaag! I have mine unlocked so even though its not a 3Gs, it still has all the fun stuff of the S. Video, copy/paste, etc... Only downfall is the phone signal is not as strong as my G1. Oh well...

Don't forget about iTunes. OMG what a complete piece of shit software package that is. I wish adding movies pictures an music to the phone was eisier. I'm thinking of doing the jailbreak deal but am worried about messing the whole thing up.

Shit, I meant jailbroken! Although mine is unlocked too... I dont remember the software used to jailbreak mine, but I will find out for you. :yes:

Remember, Itunes, regardless of it being crap, does have the ability of restoring your phone to factory, as I am sure you know...

Just kid'in... So far MMS is the only thing I cant do right out of the box... There are third party apps that will let you but its NOT THE PHONE! OS 3.1 enabled the phone to do MMS so the phone is capable. It's ATT's network that wont allow MMS on the iphone.

Anything other than that, the iPhone can do what any other phone can do and more :bring:

It does push or retrieve. Its up to you and is adjustable for each email account you have setup.

I'm tied to the PCC exchange server and it syncs my calender/contacts but I've elected to turn off the email because I hate getting useless gibberish about work on my phone every couple of minutes... But at the flip of an virtual switch it would sync my email as well.

ATT has announced that they are going to enable MMS for the iPhone. They just haven't provided a solid date yet... September is all I was told so... Next May?

If you haven't tried using an HTC Evo running Android 2.2 you don't know what you're missing. AT&T and Apple can keep their hands down each others pants; I'm out... The network cant keep up with all the iPhones (which sales for are down) and as nice as the iPhone had been; iTunes can pucker up and kiss my ass! Dear lord what a shitty application.
