2Fast and crew will be in town June 17th, they are offering the last NRS (Novice Racers School) in 2009 for OMRRA. There are still spots available, so if your at all interested in joining the novice ranks with OMRRA, here is your last chance for the year.

Along with the NRS, there will be doing a Track Day and offering a Performance School.

2Fast runs a different track day then we typically see around here, I was amazed at the professionalism, and involvement Mark and his staff offer the rider. There are plenty of Marshals and Instructors for riders to get feedback on, work on a specific section of the track, etc. Most of them are OMRRA/WMRRA racers, as well as long time track day riders with tons of experience. If you sign up for the Performance School, you will be getting individual attention on track, with classroom time between sessions to cover what you worked on. The Performance School is for all levels of riders.

If anyone is interested in more information on 2Fast, please check out their website (linked in my sig), or PM me.

Thanks all, hope to see you out there on the 17th!

Oh, and don't forget that if you sign up for C group but don't pay the $100 premium you DON'T get the benifit of feedback from the instructors like you would from NESBA, PSSR or MotoCorsa.

That's not my experience with them.

The performance school is the premium service, you pay extra for it. It includes one on one instruction with classroom time between sessions. Anyone can ask a marshal or instructor to help them on track, they just wont get the classroom, or one on one attention you get for the extra money.

Thats the whole thing. Those who don't need or want to pay the $100 premium don't get the 1 on 1 that NESBA or PSSR will give you for free.

That for me is a deal breaker. Any other orginization will give it to you for free. 5 Min during the day or 40 min between every session, same price. I can see if the rider needs heavy instruction they should pay a premeium but if I need 5 or 10 min for critique on my form why should I pay $100 extra for what other companies give for free?

I'll grant you that I have yet to do a track day. Though I have looked at all my options. I've already sat through most of Cascade track time's class sessions and I'm considered by many to be ( as someone put today ) "fast as hell" on the street. I've been looking to do a trak day later this year and 2-fast is at the bottom of my list for providers for the very reason that they specifically state on their website that if you don't pay the fee, you don't get the instruction.

Sorry 2-fast, Hello NESBA!

frons 2-fast's website

"Think you're fast? Our instructors would be happy to show you just how slow you are and where you can improve!"

Now isn't that an arrogant statement I know I'm not fast on the track. I'd be on the track to improve my skills not prove them.

again per the website

"For those who do not feel they would benefit from our instructional course teachings, the option exists to simply participate in our trackdays without the additional in-classroom benefits of the above $289 performance school offering. The participants who choose this option pay only $189 if they pre-register, but do not benefit from our in-classroom teachings between on-track sessions. Students who pay the $289 will each have an identification decal on their bikes and helmets so that instructors and staff can designate students from non-students; therefore, 2Fast registrants who think they can get the same benefits of instruction while paying only the $189 non-student price tag should think twice. Not so."

I probably would get SOME benefit from the extra instruction. Just not the $100 they seem to think it's worth considering I've already sat through cascades instruction with a friend. They leave a giant gray area in that statement that if you don't pay they will know and not give you much or any attention on track.

per the website

"We try to have roughly 10 individual instructors on hand at each event, each instructor working with paid, classroom students only"

Seems pretty cut and dry, I don't pay, they don't help me play.

Per the website

"For those with track day experience, performance school experience (Pridmore, Spencer, Schwantz, Sullivan, etc) tires that show wear all the way out to the edges, Relaxed Group is the wrong level to sign up for: instead, look to the Intermediate Group, possibly even our Expert Level group "

Um yeah, I have wear out to the edges but that doesn't make me fast enough to be out there in a B group. If that is how they judge a riders abilities without seeing them I question the whole situation. Last thing I want is to be thrown into B group on my first day. I don't care if I am capable of B group, I'll stay in C untill I feel comfortable moving up.

You've never done a track day and are providing feedback on a track day org?

Cascade doesn't have a classroom session, I have done every CTT day for three years, so where did you get that information from?

The one on one you get from 2Fast is designed for all levels of skill. Its more attention then you would get from any other org. I have done them all, CTT, MotoCorsa, NESBA, PSSR, and 2Fast. They all do something different, some are more catered to racers (CTT), others for street riders who are just picking up the sport (MotoCorsa, PSSR). I believe they all offer something good for their participants, you just need to figure out which one best suits you.

I just find it funny you take my thread where I don't talk down any org and try and tear 2Fast apart. When you show up at the track, be it with any org, then try a 2Fast day I will then think you have a valid opinion. As it is now, your someone who has never done a track day with any org you refer to above, and still bad mouth an org you know absolutely nothing about.

Nice job.

Posted on EDR's forum from the owner of 2Fast:

"2Fast Portland & Spokane June Specials! As we are breaking into new markets, we have a introductory rate for our Portland June 17th and Spokane June 20th event...$150 track day and $250 performance School. Yes, you got it, $150 for a track day and that's before discounts apply.

If you've already registered at our regular rates, you will be given a $39 refund for the difference.

So we at 2Fast would love you to come out and ride with us at either location and experience a great day at the track, 2Fast style! http://www.edrperformance.com/insider/images/smilies/smile.gif

We hope to see you there!"

He has sweetened the deal!

Just spent two days last week up at Pacific Raceway with the 2Fast operation. First Class in every way. Mark DeGross runs a great track day (and an outstanding personalized type school if you want it). +1000 to what Visolara had to say. I saw nothing but smiling faces all day long. And I might add that the instructors were there to help where ever they thought they could but obviously "students" were given specific attention.

Nice job.

You just screwed the pooch.

Oh yeah. I'm providing feed back on an org. I've been looking at who I want to deal with as a noob to track days. Everyone has to decide who to go to first since that is your most important track day, the introduction. If you're budget minded then you look at bang for the buck, if you're saftey minded you look at how they will deal with somone over their head. You look at their passing rules and the general safety issues.

I've looked at them all, I've talked to them all. I've been the the website of them all. I've even been to actual events where people I know are attending.

2 years ago I attended a CTT day with a friend. I sat through all the class sessions with him. I can assure you that Tyson does, or at the time did have class session between groups. I've attended MotoCorsa's events with friends where I was able to speak with instructors. I've been to other events where people I know to be intructors with different providers have all said to me to come out and if I want it they will give me all the help they can.

Then there is 2-fast who, when I emailed them, told me that the instructors are there for paid students, if I felt I needed help I needed to pay for it.

Then of course there is you.....

How many posts do you have here that aren't advertisements for TOR or some OMMRA event? Do you partake in the discussions we have? Do you attend the events we have? Oh yeah baby, I'm talking about 2-fast like I talk about other things of interest around here. What are you doing? ..... I know, wasting bandwidth with free advertising on the administrators dime. Here's a thought, if you want to post here be a part of the community instead just hocking your wares.

I'm not talking shit about 2-fast, I'm stating the facts as I know them for others to benifit from. You're the one talking shit about me for posting what I know. Here's another thought, leave your attitude somewhere else when you log in here or you may find yourself unable to.

I have no idea who you are. I was invited to this forum by a member because he felt there were people here who would be interested in Taste of Racing (ToR). I never claimed to participated in general forum conversation here. I joined this forum for a single purpose, and that was to let your members know when and where ToR was (again, I was invited to do that).

If you have a problem with me, I have no problem not posting here.

In one of my posts above, I said all track day orgs offer something different for different rider types. If you are brand spanking new, maybe MotoCorsa, or PSSR would be better for you. NESBA, and 2Fast may not. CTT certainly not.

2Fast has instructors and marshals like every other org. If you ask for help, you will get it. The performance school is designed to help any level rider get better with one on one instruction for the whole day. You will not get the same attention with one on one classroom instruction all day from any other orginization, and I have done them all.

Mike (is that your name? it says it in your avatar), if you want to stop by at lunch on the 17th lets chat, I will introduce you to Mark (the owner) and you can see for yourself what they offer. Will it be what you want? maybe not, but it is what others want. If you can't make the 17th, stop by any OMRRA weekend and chat with me in person. I am an approachable person and very reasonable. I would like to meet and chat with you in person, I don't think this, like many online forum arguements needed to happen.

Take care, and be well.

Mike get down off your high horse and leave him alone! He's just getting the word out for those who may be interested and he is not plugging his own business/website for his own benefit. Visolara is not affiliated with 2-fast and all money (not just "profits") from TOR go to the injured riders fund.

Youre allowed to have your opinions on track day providers, but dont shoot the messenger.

Ive ridden with you in the past and from what I saw you were not "fast as hell on the street" but more of someone who could really benefit from some quality track time and instruction. I would suggest PSSR for your first day as they have a very well structured C group and the most in depth instruction available. IMO

Dave, it's been about a year since you've ridden with me and as I recall I wasn't into it very much at that moment. When you have recent experience feel free to comment.

FYI, he IS affiliated with 2-fast, being sponsored by them means affiliation. He derives compensation from the buisness Thats not a messenger, it's a promoter..

We need to have some concrete discussions about advertising, rules and posting rides.

You free for some twisties this Sunday? It indeed has been a while!

Ok so he is affiliated w/ 2fast but I can pretty much guarantee the only compensation he gets is free track time.

That being said I think he does a good service to the community by at least getting the word out on the goings on at PIR. Its not like he's spamming the site with massive amounts of "come support my business partners"

But you do make a good point that it would be nice if he could participate in more of the discussions on the site.

I never said that his posts weren't welcome. I merely pointed out that if you don't want to pay the premium you can get *on track* instruction from others.

I have no expereince with 2-fast's classroom instruction. I emailed them about things and got an answer that read in it's basics to pay up or be on my own. It's nothing personal against Visolara yet it has everything to do about 2-fast's attitude. When it comes to track days PSSR, NESBA and others are more willing to provide what the track noob needs VS what 2-fast offers for the same money. I've already had friends sign up for Cascade as a first time track day, I donm't want them to make the same mistake with anyone else.

Know the facts before you sign up for your first one.

Well I'm signed up for this one. My first with 2Fast. I've only heard good things about 2Fasttrackdays.

I have tried several other providers. Won't ride with NESBA again. They have left Portland anyway. :wave

All the motorbike trackday organizations I've been to are 100% the same. The all want the rider who spends the money to have a good time. The difference is how they get that across to the end user.

Everybody has stories to tell how one is better than the other for whatever reason, price, cliental, locaton, days of the week, etc.. Either way, everyones number one priority is safety. All of them.

I've done them all a number of times except for 2fast. I'd take Pat's post above to the bank if I could. He gives the best advice in this environment from anyone else I've met in the last seven years.

I can give detailed feedback for each org if anyone would like, PM me.
