Alright, this time I had good reason. The Tail on my latest Ride had some crap Lights for Turn Signals, and the shody Tail Eliminator attempt was rather flexible, and didn't meet the minimum standards of quality control, let alone my whacked-out sense of how things should be built!

Here is how the Tail looked when I started, and you do have to squint a bit to see it, but is really was crap:

I have a symptom to this Disease which causes me to keep the most redicules things (Pack Rat), however sometimes it does come in useful for various recreational hazards. In this case, I have had a Stock Tail off a CBR600 (02?) for sometime now, collecting dust, waiting for that possible day it may prove useful... and today was that day! As you can see in the pic, I have already torn the Tail apart, discovering some weak-ass LED Bulbs had already been install in the Tail Lamp. The Donor Tail Fender contained an exceptionally bright LED Tail/Brake Lamp, and some rather bright Turn Signal Lamps, in addition to a Plate Mount.

It was exactly what I needed, and I promptly began cutting it to bits and pieces (I like Plastic!):

Soon I had the parts I needed from it:

Some quick clamps allowed for drilling mounting holes, where the entire assembly would bolt up to the underside of the Inner Fender:

With it now bolted up, it was just a mater of running new Wiring:

With that part out of the way, it was onto Step Two- Tail/Brake Lamp. This would be the most difficult challenge, as it really was a "One Shot Deal", and if I didn't get it right, I would be searching for a new Lamp on eBay! (hack, shread, cut, rip, rip, rip...):

Just a bit more for a tight fit...
Perfect! No Glue, or Screws required :

Here it is completed, with the Tail Lamp lit:

And the Brake Lamp.... POW! That's Bright!!:

Well, now you know why they call me Monkey Wrench!

Holy Crap! You collect seemingly worthless stuff to!!! :rad:

I'd have to agree that it looks much better. The blinkers will be much more visible and look pretty good too. I had the LED undertail on my SV650 and as Flyte likes to put it; the LED's ranked about a solid 8 on the suck-ass-o-meter... Bigger brighter blinkers that look just as good as before

If you're really into plastic and make'in things with it I've got some pretty bitch'in stuff from Tap Plastic on Sandy. They have pieces of all kinds of scrap plastic for like $1.30 a pound and all kinds of silicone mold making stuff, acrylic, carbon, vac bagging, solvents, resin. I'm going to make a radar mount for my ZX next and I'm going to use goodies from them to do it

I'll have to check out that place...
Generally, I like to build stuff out of things I have laying about, but I regularly find that I am missing something critical, and... well... Home Depot just doesn't have it all.

Show off the Radar Mount when you get it done!!

Nice job! Wanna work on my CBR? I just want some new rear turn signals.... Mine has some blacked out ones that are near impossible to see in the day light.... I bought some new ones, but I haven't had time to get them on (I live 2500 miles away from my bike currently). I think we have them here too.... Whoops. Anyhow.... I would love to make some brighter lights for my bike!!
