So the stock mirrors on my 650R suck. I can't see anything except for my shoulders. I've looked at bar-end mirrors and those seem to be the best choice for me. Just some 3" round ones. So, the question I have is: Are there any other mirror options that would look halfway decent on a sport-style bike? What about the handlebar mirrors that come over the top of your hand? Just wanting some options and opinions.

With the stock mirros it's not so much that they suck as it is that you suck at adjusting them.

Pull the mirror stalk closer to you and point the mirror itself more outward. The idea is to see whats beside you as well as whats is behind. If this still doesn't help adjust your riding position. You should not be using your arms to hold you up. That is all done with your lower body leaving your arms and shoulders free to move and adjust the bike.

I knew I read this in the FAQ......

I will give another attempt at adjusting them. Thanks for the advice.

I think "suck" is the key word that Flyte is trying to get across.

just take 'em off!!! you don't need to see who's behind you, they are behind you not in front of you.

I hate stock mirrors.. they feel like I have these bug antennas sticking out there

I'd go with the bar end mirrors.. Cycle Gear has some for cheap

Go with bar end mirrors. Personally, I won't use anything else. Buy good ones or all you will see is a fuzzy image alerting you that something is behind you, but you won't be able to figure out what it is. CGR is a pretty popular. Rizoma and oberon both make some very nice mirrors, as well.
