So Im currious, how many of you R1 owners out there are planning on either trading in your current bike for one of the new 2007 R1's or just chomping at the bit to own one?
If so, what is your motivation for doing so, and if not, why not? Or what is your opinion of the new R1?

I think the R1 is as close to a bike made in Italy you can get without paying the big bucks.. That being said I don't think anyone with an 04-06 will be in that big a hurry to upgrade... They all pretty much look the same...

I wonder how the power delivery will be changed in the 07 model. The current engine is a bit peaky compared with the other liter bikes.

I'm still waiting so see some numbers on the new redesigned machine for '07.
Sure it will be wild as hell. Looks like more manufactorers are heading toward the GSXR styled plastics. Now if they could just hire someone to do some decent graphics for them. Kaw has to coolest flames this year.

White rims or lowers? Must have let the new help make the call on that one.

I love the look of the R1's. Still the sexiest bike out there imo with the gsxr's a close second. The only thing sexier would be if you could get a gsxr tail on one. It would only be a slight improvement though.

If I was shopping for new I'd be looking at those for sure.

That was the bike I was originally holding out to get, but after sitting on the 06' it wasn't as comfortable for me as the Gixxer. I do think the R1 styling is cooler looking though, awesome bike!

I was a bit disappointed seeing the new R1 in person. I didn't care for those bizaare R6 style things hanging off the side. For me however looks come secondary when it comes to sportbikes. If it works well then I guess I don't care about those space shuttle panels.

Yea, Apparently there are a few people that actually own them now, and have posted pics here and there. Im still not impressed. In my opinion it just isnt nearly as stylish as the 04-06 models. And with only 4 horse power gained over the privious model, Im quite happy with mine.

Yea, but just about everything on the '07 model can be added to the '04-'06 models. (Except the YCC. but its only a matter of time before someone figures out that mod.) I just dont see the benifit.
