After my last post you wouldn't think I'd be a canadate for the exhaust mod., but I did it.
Yes, I bought the A&R Exhaust Baffle kit. Added a few tricks of my own.
Knocked out the Cataletic Converter. Total Cost $90 and my time. Converter was so simple too.
Need to remap it badly now. It has nice sound. Saved about 10 lbs of weight. Pegs, rear seat, fender, baffles...

Cool deal man! Did you happen to take any pics along the way so that you could do a quick write up / how to for the forum?

When cutting out the welds on the factory baffles I used a Dremal tool with a small cutting wheel to make three cuts around the welds. The flange you are in need of will then be free.
Then I took a 5" grinder to the welds. Looked like a pro did it. My flange looked better than the one they posted.
Your baffle material supplied will be about 4" short inside the can, and the directions clearly show them reappliing the factory baffle material under there's. I'd reccommend using neither and just packing it with SilentSport packing. I used the factory wrap plus there V&H packing, and some Silent Sport in the 4" bald area. Very airtight and not overly loud.
I also retained the end can flange under the rivets. I thought it would make a better seal that way.
As for the cat. I actually cut it in half and rewelded it up again. Very fast simple way.
Can't wait to hear it on the open road at 10 grand.:rad:

looks kewl. when i did mine i took both end caps off and welded a small peice of exhuast pipe that i bought at a local auto shop and then welded the baffle tube to the exhaust pipe. Was told by more then one person to do this due to the baffle will eventually rattle inside the can. Pretty sure this way will last longer.
