So after much thinking. ( probably too much ) Rattle vs. pro job to paint bike.

Can anyone tell me ballpark figure on how much it would cost to get a paint job and how long it would take ? Also where would be a good place to get it done. I'm in N.PDX...

We have done some work on it already. It does need more prepare before painting. I was weaving between 2 ideas. One being rattle can or getting it done by someone who knows how to balance out my first attempt on repairs..lol...Torque did do the initial ground work.

There is a 3rd idea. That if it costs too much. Just get another fairring and get it painted to match..Its now firecracker red..I would like to have it painted to a white metalic flake with a black stripe..(to make it look like a racing bike...with kick.)Then instead of where a number would be. I would like to put the below in the circle initialed NK... instead of HK.

1924

I'm thinking of trying to make this a decal though. i know that alone would be some serious bucks if airbrushed...Troque designed that one for me. Anyone suggestions ?

I'd go the decal route for the graphic. Email Dave (Warp Grafix, our forum sponsor, banner at top of page) and talk to him about exactly what you want. Let him know you're from OSB and he'll take care of you.

For paint, PM custmp8tr (I think thats how he spells it) here on the forum. He's done work for other members who have been very pleased.

Here is a web site for the guy that painted my bike he does great work at a very good price the only catch is you have to take the parts off and take them to him.... http://www.garage31.com/

I have been very satisfied with his work. He is in Oregon City.

Make sure you post pictures and you have to have put the "Ninja Kitty" on it somewhere. :-)

How much money do you want to spend? If you have the paint I can shoot it for free at work for you. The prep work is the most important because if you do a crappy job it will show. Another way also to handle it is to just go to a sign shop and have them put vinyl over the whole thing or most of it you can do some cool designs with vinyl on the gerber machine. You can go and get the paint matched at several different places around town. As far as stickers go if you have a good picture of the sticker they can scan it at any local sign shop and make a new one out of vinyl or I know a guy for a reasonable price will do it by hand he is out in boring.

Right on, NK!!! I hope to see it in person. I've been on the travelling gig for most of the month. Arghhhh.... but I did ride both dirt and street this weekend. My buddy just picked up a new Ducati.
