Hi guys and gals. Just wanted to give you all a heads up that Milwaukie Police now have a photo radar van. Its all white with Milwaukie PD written in red ink on the side. You can tell its a photo radar van by the glass window in the back.
The Mep hates these things, think tickets should be given out it person as some people have legit reason for speeding. Those vans are heartless, no chance to plead your case to the officer. Seen it on HWY 224 and along MCL Blvd almost everyday...

Bastages! How dare they do that? How can I speed if they're keeping track?

I would love to take my license plate off and just blow by that van, while flipping off the camera. Nothing against cops, just for laughs:twofinger:

You know, I'd be worried about it, but since I downgraded to a slower speed-colored bike, I should be safe. Right? :3cycle: :haha:

GAWD that is refreshing to read and I completely agree. Let the people who can consider the context in which a violation occurred decide if a citation is warranted. It gives the driver/rider two opportunities to plead his/her case, once to the officer and again to the judge if the officer feels that the situation warranted a citation. Thank you, Mep, for wanting to keep PEOPLE being the ones making these kinds of decisions.

Photo radar doesn't get bikes. No front plate and the whole helmet issue. But just don't do anything stupid. The Mep has seen the van and then a bike down the street
Sage words of advise from The MEP. Thank you Master MEP.

So that brings up a good point. If you speed past the van, get a ticket, then proceed to speed and a block or two up a bike clocks you speeding still can he also give you a ticket?

On a side note Washington Satate is adding photo radar vans in work zones on all highways.....I am not sure about on the interstate but watch your self in the work zones!

The van takes the pics and issues tickets but the driver won't know who got what till film is developed. So yes if speed by the van and still speeding down the street could get two tickets.
