Hey all!
Well I've been ordering parts, and working on the bike whenever my neck feels good enough to. It's coming along nicely, I think. You all saw the pic right after I stripped the fairings off- since then I put on a solo seat cowl, a clear alternatives LED tailight with intergrated signals from an early 90's FZR 1000 (simple bolt-on install MY ASS! Took me about 3 frickin hours, but it looks awesome:rad: ) now I can chop the rear fender off, and ditch my rear signals:yes: Front brake rotors should be here today. Still trying to locate a used Buell Cyclone M2 flyscreen. They have been on Ebay going for as much(sometimes more) as a new one from Buell would cost. If I don't win the one I'm currently bidding on, i'm just going to order one from Buell. I also painted my front fender and solo cowl to match the rest of the bike. They look so nice I'm stuck painting the rest of the bike now:lol: Still have to mount the LED plate light after I get the fender chopped and figure out where the plate is going to be.
I'm really starting to warm up to this naked thing. Never really loved or hated naked bikes(except Buells, they're just plain wicked looking), but I'm really starting to like the way this thing looks more and more!
Anyway, I'll take some pics today and get them posted soon.
Later,
B

here's a couple of pics right after I cut the fender. Kinda hard to see with the garage as cluttered as it is. I even managed to get one with the turn signal on.....it only took about twenty tries:hysterical: Anyway, got that done. Back to the garage!
Oh yeah, anyone else have a problem with Lockhart-Phillips mini signals melting??????????? Front ones are about a month old, and I just noticed it yesterday. I've ridden the bike like twice since I put them on:yell: Oh well, guess I need some new LED ones to match the taillight:yes:
I'll take pics as I get stuff prepped and painted and get a few posted here as I go.
Later,
B

those turn signals usually come with only two wires and your stock ones would have had three. If you hook the wrong wires together the signals will stay on all the time....they are only supposed to be on when using the signals. I know this because I too had that kind and they melted right off the bike. Learn from your mistakes right? LOL I guess you get what you pay for.

Windburnt- this is the 2nd best part of owning a bike:yes: Absolutely LOVE working on/customizing vehicles!

Andrew- these signals were dual filament bulbs with three wire hookups, made to be used as running lights too. And I did hook them up correctly (they are VERY specific about how to hook these up so they DON'T run hot) So I'm really scratching my head. I'll mention it to Steve at Discount next time I'm in there. Maybe he'll hook me up on a deal on some LED ones since I bought these there and just bought a 100 dollar taillight from him 2 days ago. If not cycle gear has em on sale right now:yes:
Peace,
B

YEA!!!!!!
After bidding on 4 others, I FINALLY won an auction for a buell flyscreen:yes:
Need for speed and I changed the front rotors yesterday. The last person that had them off used a mixture of blue AND red loctite, It took forever to get the bolts out:yell: . New pads and fluid for the fronts today too. With Thanksgiving this week, I probably won't have the paint done till next week. But it's gettin there :rad:

Actually wish I saw this one sooner. Kind looks like the Ex 500. I know many thought it is ugly. But I loved that bike !!!
