Of our riding season? It's been so chilly and moi out. (yes, I intended the spelling that way.)

Seems like just last week, we had summer, now its autumn. :mecry:

Please, someone say there will be a couple nice days here and there on the weekends... :impaired:

I dunno, this afternoon was pretty nice, I went out for a bit of one. :D

Ugh, it was nasty all day in Mac.

If its going to be wet and icky, it might as well make it interesting. I want some big T-storms...

You can be like me and take Steves advice and ride in the rain on a haybusa and pratice trying to get it side ways ....Untill you almost kill yourself while hydroplaning at 100MPH :eek2: Then you go home doing less then the speed limit and climb under a warm blanket and shake in fear :crying:

Jane Honda

Yeah, no thanks.

I rather conquer the fear of it just being wet, and being on a bike at the same time... Altho, it didn't bother me too badly when we all got caught in the rain that one time...

I can't say that I recommend that. Even on an SV650, that can get dangerous.

Guess how I know...

looks like a fracture of the 3rd metacarpal did I win a prize? I did the same thing (but mine was the 4th) playing basketball only mine had displaced about an inch so my knuckle was in the middle of my hand. first thing they asked me was who I punched :) (guess its a common boxers break) I now have a knarly scar on the top of my hand where they cut it open pulled the bones back into place and pinned it. took about a month before I could use my hand again but beat what the first doc told me "we can't do anything for it" I was like BS refer me to a specialist now, good luck........

sorry to go way off topic now back to your regularly scheduled program

I only have 3/8" of displacement. They be doing the same surgery to me as well, but with a plate too.

I don't think its off topic at all--it is certainly the end of MY riding season. :D

Have gear... Will ride!

The season for me railing it is over, the season to kick back and remember why I ride has begun.

For me the winter is the time I spend usually alone with the bike and myself. No thoughts about how to enter the next set of curves or the fastest line. It about being free and in control. Whatever free and in control means to everyone else is different, to me it's not being home or at work and the rush that comes from controling my machine that wants to kill me at the slightest twitch of my wrist.

For those who think I'm nutz, try riding in the rain with good leathers. The bike has no traction and it's just you and your skills. Rain be damned, I'll be out this winter.

Flyte Risk

Of course recall that this time last year I was on crutches because my machine did try to kill me. I took last winter for granted as I couldn't ride. It wasn't until march that I was able to get it down the road with any confidence. This year will be different.

Or, you could be like me, screw it all, and go for a jaunt in the lovely off/on weather we have in Oregon. Nothing like riding in the pissing rain on the 84 that'll teach you a good tuck. ;)

I am about ready to just say skrew it, and take my bike to work. To heck with the only having a permit, and the wet, and my FREAKIN DRIVEWAY! :wife:

I rode to work today.

It took longer to clean my bike up than actually get to work!
It's amazing how filthy bikes can become with spray from the wet roads n' rainshowers.

The heated grips were nice this morning though

I'm thinking about a day ride to Bend on Sunday. It should be good weather
over there this weekend per Andy Carson on Channel 12.

Heated grips. Gotta get serious and get some.
that's after I replace the bent clutch handle. It hits the fairing now due to a uh, modification. :o

I rode tonight and it was awesome, Rain be damned.

I did however get a hard lesson in traction. I seemd to have forgot that not only is it limited on wet roads, that our bikes will, unexpectedly and for no reason other then throttle, loose traction and spin up the rear. After the first time or two I found myself doing so just because it was fun. It was a bit of a rush feeling the bike break loose and side step under me.

FYI, yeah it was raining and I know better. Still I was warm, dry and comfy all wrapped up in dead cow. GET SOME LEATHERS AND LETS RIDE!

I rode to work yesterday and again today. It's about 100 miles, round-trip. I'm hoping to ride every day this week. Heated grips, baby. They're lifesavers. Add in some good thermal liners in your riding gear and you can comfortably extend the riding season by several weeks.

I can't ride what I don't have.

In all honesty when pen was put to paper and I figured out my winter income it was obvious that I would have to part with my bike. I'm older now and I realize that you don't wait for the finances to get tight, you take care of them when you see the problem so you stay ahead. So the T'cat is gone.
