I want to start recording some of my motorcycle rides and just started looking at options. Anyone have any experience in this?

I found this, it seems like an unbeatable deal. At this point I'm not really looking for high end professional quality, so do you think this will work for me fine? Anyone ever do any high speed recording (100-180 mph)?

I was skeptical at first, seeing the link as "heartratemonitorsusa, but, Oregon Scientific is a respectable brand aren't they?

This plus a 2g card and I'm barely looking at over $100.

this was the first thing I looked at...can't really afford it yet ($591) though I'm sure the quality is great.

I have a different product from rflimited so not really anything I can say about the camera unit itself. I'm just really impressed with how they treat their customers and their products. Great cust service, awesome products and good prices.

If you go to www.rflimited.com >motocomm>DSR-100 you'll see their cam system. $360 for the complete set-up (and I mean complete, you will have extra parts, connectors, extensions, wires, etc...). Has a LCD display, bullet cam that mounts to your bike or lid, 128M onboard mem and will take a 2G SD card, has a built in MP3 player with included helmet speakers and microphone that will record your voice for those "oh shyte" moments. Records in net standard 320X240 30 FPS. If the product I have is an indicator of the cam system I suspect it's quite the overacheiver for what you want.

FYI, I have the Riderlink ST-1. VOX rider/passenger intercom, fm radio tuner, with connections for my cell phone, MP3 player, GPS and GMRS/FRS radio. Yeah, scary thought isn't it, I'm on the phone, in the twistys, while hanging off the bike for dear life......

That does sound pretty awesome. It seems that some of the others I was looking at had 640x480, however, which seems like a nice jump from the 320x240.

I'm trying to sell my Nintendo Wii and games/accessories for $350 right now, so that'd be perfect if it sells.

That motocom unit looks pretty good. I would like to see the quality on a full screen tv though. I've got a little experience doing ride videos. I use a sony handycam for mine on a custom tank mount. You can see my videos in the videos section.

I bought this new in 2007 and used it all that year for street rides and track footage. I had a pretty sweet setup with front, rear, and tank camera mounts, hidden mic and wires.

The system has all the origional parts and components minus some zipties and sitcky tape I used for mounting. The playback unit has a small crease where it was pinched next to a fork tube but it's just cosmetic.

I couldn't believe all the stuff they could fit in the box when I opened it up the first time. It's an awesome price even if you're buying a new unit.

Im just wondering why your selling it, if you were using it all year? Is the crease through the screen?

The crease is on the lower right backside on the opposite side of the display face. I sold my bike a couple months ago so I don't have any use for it right now.

Sorry to hear you had to get rid of your bike. :(

I'll be coming back down from Ptown on Saturday. If your going to be in Salem, maybe we can meet up and I can check it out.
