Is that PSSR or CT's venue? I'm doing the Motocorsa one in August 20.

I think I will be there for this. Just FYI since OMRRA is only a one day event on the 28th. expect lots of racers and expect it to fill quickly.

Do the trackday organizers offer a trade like corner working for tracktime? That's how I managed to get most of my track time when I lived in Arizona.

If I can get my camera out of hock by then (long story, don't ask) I may be able to hook you up with some pictures. How is the access to the track for photographers? I've been to some tracks where the only way you get decent access is to be a paying (to the organizer) commercial photographer.

Let's just say, you better have one good zoom lens, cause you ain't getting near the track.

I've got a 75 to 300mm. With the 1.6 crop factor on a digital SLR, that adds up to a fairly long zoom. Again, if I can get my camera, I'll come out and see what I can do. I've shot something like around 20 to 30k worth of track photos, so I can probably get something worthwhile if I can get anywhere near a good spot on the track.
I do understand why tracks have to restrict photographer access: the idiots. At the tracks in Arizona, at every trackday we'd get between 10 and 15 "photographers" coming out and shooting pictures, and they'd get into some stupid locations, like potential run off areas and then the corner workers would have to herd them into safer spots. Finally, the organizers had to put their foot down and keep all the non-commercial photographers in the pit area. The only reason I got to keep shooting was because I was friends with several of the organizers and would give them free photos from time to time as well as letting them use a lot of the shots for their websites.

Why would you say that? Photogs get nearly unrestricted access at CT days.

This will be my first day with Cascade. So I don't know how they run things, but it has been my experience that the only photogs on track are commercial venders... But I have heard that Cascade runs a loose event. So your right, I don't really know.:idunno:Feel free to provide more accurate info, Im hear to learn too.

By my personel experience all of our local trackday providers allow most anyone with a camera full access to the many safe photo locations around PIR. You just need to sign the waiver and let them know what is up.
