I was listening to the radio today and heard a caller call into a Eugene and surrounding area radio station, bragging about how he killed his neighbor’s dog with a bottle rocket. I REALLY hope this was the rambling of an attention hungry loser, but if there is any truth in his story this guy needs to pay. Whether someone finds his body in an alleyway or his @$$ goes to jail, this @$$hole needs to go down.:yell:

Details:
Caller describes the dog as being loud and left home alone last night during the fireworks. Apparently the dog was barking a lot and this guy shot a bottle rocket at the dog that was on the other side of a fence. The bottle rocket reportedly flew into the dog’s mouth and detonated. At which time the dog fell over dead. The caller went on to say that upon the owners return, the owner went to this guy’s home to ask if anyone had been in their backyard. The guy said that the owner told him that their dog was dead, and the guy faked sympathy for the dead dog.

I really truly hope this is a total bull$#it story, but if anyone knows someone who had a situation like this occur in the past few days. Please pass this information on.

I just can't understand how some people can live with themselves.:yell:

If he called into a radio station, it's taped.

He gave enough details about the story and conversation with the dog's owner that if it did happen, he is easily identified.

He committed a felony.

The trick is finding the owner to tell them about the call to the radio station.

Personally, I'd pressure the radio station to make a call to either the local police or animal control to see if they took a call from the owner.

That's why I wanted to get the word out. I figured I would post up here to hopefully inform as many people as possible, who might know the dog's owner. :(

I call bs. I've had fire crackers go off in my hand and it hurts but not that bad. I can't believe it would be enough to kill the dog. Hurt yes, traumatize yes, kill... don't think so, especially to just fall over dead.

I had thought about that too, but you have to figure that the lethality is greatly increased since all of the force was directed into the throat of the dog. Dogs don't have very large lungs and it is at least conceivable that the inhalation of smoke and the force of the explosion could have acted together to "blow out" the dogs lungs.

I really do hope you are right though. :( But if this really did happen, I don't want this guy getting away with it. :yell:
