I was thinking of getting a power up kit...chain,front/rear sproket. I was thinking -1 front..+2 in the back??? Or just -1 up front??? can any one give me any pointers to which one I should go with? Or tell me more about them? Ive been reading on it but I cant get the answer im looking for. Help would be awsome!!!

It depends on what you want to accomplish and what kind of riding you do. Personally I think -1 and +2 is a good combo for a 600. BTW, never heard it called a power up kit?

-1 in the front is usually equivalent to +3 in the rear. You should notice a big change with -1 front +2 rear.

I did the -1 +2 conversion (mainly cuz I got both sprockets off of Cheez-Bay for super cheap). I did it to my 750 and really like the added "pep". It did change my odometer (it says Im going quite a bit faster and adds quite a few more miles to every ride) and decreases your mile per gallon but I like it still. You can get a "yellow box" or a speedo correcter for about a hundo but Im not sure if that will keep the milage from ticking on too fast. I think I read somewhere that how many times your crankshaft to the front sprocket rotates determines your odometer and a speedo correcter will not cahnge this but I am not sure. Is anybody else familiar with this device? Can it affect both the speedometer and the odometer? Sheeet....more questions asked then answeard - Sorry!:idunno::confused:

"Power Up" kits are not an easy or cheap task to do them right.

1. you have to decide if you are going to stunt, race or daily ride.
2. you have to decide if you want your stock chain or 520 conversion.
3. you have to decide what gearing change you want.
(-1/+2 is a popular combo...but a big change also)

*keep in mind that what you gain on the low end is what you loose on the top end*

4. you'll need a speedo-healer for your speedometer to read correctly.
5. you'll need a rear stand for proper chain maint. especially if you go 520.

If you haven't already done it... I can answer questions.
