View Full Version : OMRRA increased fees for racing
OMRRA has determined it is necessary to increase the fees which means that Novice racing now costs more than a track day, and there is a lot of heated discussion about fees, the Novice grid and volunteers.
Anyway, I hope some of you who don't race would still consider coming to PIR to watch the races and support them and hopefully racing sport-bikes there may continue.

Everything seems to go up except the amount I get paid.....:(
Boy, aint it the truth. I am seriously considering SuperMotard and Karting. Motard racing fees are much cheaper and you can do both Karts and Motards on track days. If you've ever been in a Kart that will do 125mph on a track, that is freak'n hoot.

Hey eezz, I've seen that avatar somewhere before :smilewink: . Yeah, that fee discussion is getting heated over there. I hope some good comes out of it. Maybe the short 2007 year will just be a bump in the road for OMRRA as opposed to its death blow :crash:
Oh yeah, I brazenly stole that picture for an avatar for a couple of weeks because I think its HI-larious.
Yeah, the price of energy drives everything up, I may have to find a more relaxing (cheaper) hobby.
I guess that thread got out of control because its gone. Oh well, it belonged in the OMRRA forum anyway, it probably wouldn't have got so nuts over there cuz only members who should care would have been involved, not the regular sb.ws crap slingers.

yup...I read that "other" thread. I think it got pretty out of control. It was
definitely drama lounge with some bruised ego's...
I think OMRRA should come up with a real sustainable marketing/fundraising
plan and get as many members involved with marketing and sponsorship as
possible. Out of necessity, it's becoming a financial issue in the organization
for a racer to not just race, but also to become fund raisers for
the financial health of the club (similar to being involved with a political
office).
I'm seeing some good ideas proposed (minus the drama) so hopefully there
will be a positive that comes out from this.
